Let me tell you what I had for breakfast.
What? You don’t care?
Believe it or not, I’m not famous and that’s why you probably don’t care about my every movement – as we do with stars such as Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber, or Stephen Fry. However, I am a media personality.
These days, everybody needs to think of themselves as a media personality.
20 years ago, people wouldn’t have strong opinions about you, unless they met you face to face, but today, people are going online and looking at what you think, how you come across and who you’re connected with, way before they get anywhere near you.
What does that mean for your business?
What you do online has a massive effect on your reputation. Think about the people that you want to be connected with and others are going to see who those connections are.
Think about your photograph, What you say, How you describe yourself… and so how are you going to come across to the potential visitors that look at your profiles?
Although no one cares what you had for breakfast, you do have to think of yourself as a media personality. Today, your life is as transparent as a celebrity’s life for the people in your world that care, be they prospects, leads or colleagues of yours.
By the way, I had cornflakes.
